German Discovery of Sex
On April 16, 2011, world-renowned scholars gathered at Clark University to discuss the emergence of modern discourses of sexuality in German-speaking central Europe at the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth centuries. This event was called German Discovery of Sex: Medicine, Activism, Literature. It was part of the Henry J. Leir Chair Programming for the 2010-2011 season, a position that Robert Tobin held from 2008 up until his passing in 2022.
