Abstract and Research Question
Research Question: What factors influence the participation of refugees in community gardens?
Abstract: Students performed research to find out what factors influence refugee participation in community gardens with members of the community. Students conducted observations, informal interviews, and focus groups with local refugees. Students focused on location, education, community, economics, and access to supplies as possible factors. They concluded that a lack of economic and structural flexibility are significant reasons for lack of participation.
