Description

Photograph of the second rocket propeller plane test that held by Robert Goddard at Clark University on March 25th, 1930. Goddard began toying around with building a double turbine-bladed propeller of aluminum in mid-March. It was operated by a powder rocket in a steel tube on top. The second test that day was successful; the lift was so great that the plane looped.

'The Goddard Rocket Researches: A Photographic Record' is an annotated photo album covering Robert H. Goddard's work and experimentation with rocketry. It was assembled and curated by Esther Goddard sometime after her husband's passing in 1945. Additionally, almost all of the photographs were taken by Esther herself.
