Photograph of celebrated poet Richard Blanco with the Sigmund Freud statue on Clark University's campus green. Blanco was at Clark Univeristy for Martin Luther King day in 2014, one year after becoming the fifth inaugural poet of the United States. In "Journey to the Podium", he spoke of his journey as a gay Cuban-American immigrant, the “complex navigation through his cultural, sexual, and artistic identities,” and what is means “to become an American.”
