Abstract
We report angular dependent heat capacity, RF penetration depth, and magnetization studies on CeCoIn5, a clean quasi-2D strongly correlated superconductor in the paramagnetic limit. At temperatures below 350 mK and magnetic field applied parallel to the conducting planes, we find evidence for the inhomogeneous FFLO superconducting state close to the upper critical field. For small tilt angles, where both orbital and paramagnetic pair-breaking becomes important, the superconducting order parameter assumes higher Landau level states within the FFLO state. For applied field at an angle greater than 15° no FFLO signature is observed and a BCS-type superconducting state emerges. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
