Document Type
Article
Abstract
The author comments on an article by C. Benoit and colleagues which examined the gender inequality perspective and the social inequality perspective on prostitution. She discusses the explanatory frameworks for sexual harassment, gender violence, marital rape, pornography and prostitution; the difficulty of knowing exactly what is being examined in studies of prostitution; and the applicability of the two main theoretical paradigms on prostitution. Also mentioned are sex workers in Senegal.
