Global Freud

On November 21st, 2009, to honor the centennial of Freud’s 1909 visit to Clark University, scholars congregated to discuss Freud’s reception in Germany, Mexico, the Francophone Caribbean, China and Japan. Sander Gilman gave a keynote address in the evening on electrotherapy. This event was part of the Henry J. Leir Chair Programming for the 2009-2010 season, a position that Robert Tobin held from 2008 up until his passing in 2022.
