Abstract
The purpose of this work will be to review the most important features of the town's history, and to obtain, as far as possible, an idea of the life of the inhabitants of the early days. This, together with the character of the people, will be compared with the conditions of today. The geographical, economic, religious, political, and educational features will be dealt with, any changes noted and the various effects of the nature and changes of these factors upon each other and upon the population and social welfare of the town will be noted.
