Abstract
The physical basis of the home, the dwelling-place of the family, is inseparably bound up with and affects to a marked degree the standard of the home. If we are at all interested in the present and future welfare of our city it is highly essential that we know what the housing conditions in Worcester are in view of the close relation between home and community.
We must admit that the citizens here as a whole have given the all-important subject of housing very little attention. One must not therefore infer that we have no housing problem. Every American city has one. There exists in Worcester bad and improper housing with its attendant evils and consequences. Living conditions, such as a proper civic consciousness would not long tolerate, prevail here in our city.
