Abstract
This study has been undertaken for the purpose of securing an idea of some of the more important professional conditions and tendencies observable in the teaching body as found in the public schools of Massachusetts. The last sections present in addition to conclusions that have been reached directly or indirectly as a result of the findings herein presented a few suggestions as to what needs to be done for and by the teachers, at least in the humble opinion of the writer.
