Description
Poster for a talk given by Lisa D. Silverman (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) titled “The Art of Loss: Madame D’Ora, Photography, and the Restitution of Jewish Property after the Holocaust“. Silverman spoke about the photographer Madame d'Ora's (aka Dora Kallmus) efforts to regain her house in Austria after it had been Aryanized by the Nazis. Her postwar photography showed that some losses are irrecoverable. This event was held in the Bassett Seminar Room at Clark University on February 11, 2016.
Some the artists who helped design these posters include Nina Borland, Jasper Boyd, Isabel Miranda, and Sampson Wilcox. This is the current extent of our knowledge regarding the Henry J. Leir poster designers.
