Photograph of James Steakley (University of Wisconsin) with the Sigmund Freud statue on Clark University's campus green. Steakley was there as a speaker at the symposium "The German Discovery of Sex: Activism, Medicine and Literature", which was part of the Henry J. Leir Chair programming for the 2010-2011 season. The talk was called "Hirschfeld’s Role Models”.
Robert Tobin was the inaugural Henry J. Leir Chair in Language, Literature, and Culture from 2008 until his passing in 2022.
