Deductive inference
Document Type

Abstract
Reviews literature on topics that interface or intersect with deduction, drawing on philosophical, linguistic, and cognitive work. The logic–language interface in linguistic semantics and cognition is discussed. Perspectives on inference and cognitive activity are considered, and the interplay of form and content in deduction is described. The dialectic between form, content, and context is the central question for theory on deductive inference, and this research is evaluated from that angle.
