Peer-Assisted Content Delivery Network by Vehicular Micro Clouds
Document Type
Conference Paper
Abstract
The demand on various forms of contents is rapidly increasing, even outgrowing the expansion of traditional Content Delivery Networks (CDNs). To address the issue, we propose a novel concept of vehicle-assisted CDNs, where a cluster of connected vehicles (i.e., vehicular micro clouds) serves as virtual content delivery servers. Our system provides guaranteed availability (in terms of mean time between failures) and optimizes the data storage workload of each vehicular micro cloud, which affects the content delivery performance.
