Because of who is in the photos, it seems that they are from both the 1891-1892 and 1892-1893 academic years. Although it has not been determined which photographs of the series went on exhibit, the following is known: the majority of the 1893 series photographs conform to an internal numbering system that once functioned as the pagination for a volume labeled “Columbian Exposition,” in which the photographs were bound. The numbers in parentheses refer to the numbers that constitute this pagination. Wherever possible the order of pagination was retained. Photographs listed as “missing” denote gaps in the sequence.
