The Alpine Glacial History and Post-Glacial Adjustments of A Section of the Cabinet Mountains, Montana

Burton Wilbur Adkinson, Clark University

Abstract

The author and his companion Mr. Van K. English devoted the summer field season of 1941 to mapping and interpreting glacial features in a portion of the Cabinet Mountains in western Montana. The story of alpine glaciation and post-glacial adjustments within the region are covered in this dissertation. The record of cordilleran glaciation is presented in a separate dissertation by Mr. English.
