Abstract

This study is an attempt to fill part of the hiatus existing in the study of the precipitation of Java. An attempt is made also to bring to light those basic characteristics of the precipitation regime which are related to the general circulation. This is regarded as essential since in this way anomalies can be traced and their possible causes explains. Due to the increasing demand for water for agricultural, industrial and municipal purposes on the island, such a study will not only have academic value, but will also have practical application.
