Abstract

Congressman McGovern has been an outspoken critic of the international community’s lack of action against the genocide in Darfur. In April, Mr. McGovern organized a protest and was arrested, along with four House colleagues and five religious and student leaders, in front of the Sudanese Embassy in Washington, D.C. McGovern is a member of the House Sudan Caucus and co-chair of the Congressional House Hunger Caucus. The Genocide Intervention Network has praised McGovern’s work on behalf of the Darfur victims.
