This course project is part of Professor Melinda Marchand's 'Public History' [HIST 150] class and began in the Spring 2024 semester. In partnership with Preservation Worcester, students work to develop walking tours of the Woodland and May Street historic districts of the city. These tours serve to educate the community as well as to generate funds for the preservation of important Worcester sites. Students work in small groups to research specific properties for the tour. The class then comes together to collaborate on the final full narrative. At the end of the semester, the class conducts several iterations of the tour, first for Clark students, and then for Preservation Worcester. The script is then shared with Preservation Worcester for their future use.
