The invisibility of diasporic capital and multiply migrant creativity
Document Type

Abstract
In this chapter, I focus on the ability to create the new without knowing what the contours of that creation will be. This is a central feature of Punjabi diaspora sensibilities as immigrants tread new terrain by dialogically responding to the moment as it transpires and collaboratively negotiating the next move. The experience of exploring territories that are unknown in advance fosters a powerful aesthetic among diasporic peoples, one involving both discovery and skill.
