Description
The first of two published volumes collecting the lectures given at the five-day Conference on Child Welfare which took place July 6th through the 10th. The conference featured representatives from twenty-seven types of child welfare organizations. July was when the 1909 Conference was originally set to take place before being moved to September. The child welfare portion of the conference is the only subject area that kept its original dates.
The materials in this collection reflect the time period in which they were written. Some of these materials contain outdated, biased, and/or offensive ideas, perspectives, and terminology. It is important to note the presence of eugenics in these volumes.
